The Feast day of the Annunciation

The Feast day of the Annunciation

What is the Feast day of the Annunciation?. The Feast day of the Annunciation retells the story of the Angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and telling her that she will conceive and give birth to a son, and he will be named Jesus, the son of God, and Mary replied with a “YES”.

The story of the Angel Gabriela and Mary  (if you want to read the story of Mary and the Angel Gabriel click this link)

On Friday 25th of March, every Christian around the world prayed at the same time to the Virgin Mother Mary in remembrance of Mary saying “YES”to the Angel Gabriel.  Who is Mary? Mary is a 12-14 year old girl from Nazareth who found favor with God, that is why we celebrate the Feast day of the Annunciation.

Pope Francis also prayed for the peace of the Russian and the Ukraine war to end so there can be no more war around the world.

What did you do for the Feast day of the Annunciation?.

Edublogs background

this is my Edublogs background. We first googled up stuff that are relatable to our lives, I chose to design this as my Edublogs background. I used black and grey as my 2 colours, because I like to keep things simple in my work and because they are my two favourite colours, what are your favourite colours?.  The outer patterns represent my Tongan culture that I am proud of, lastly the emblem on the side is my school emblem. If you got to design your own background what designs would you use that represents you, what you like and and your culture?.

Saint Patrick’s day

Thursday afternoon the entire school went to the hall after the Saint Patrick’sand Soul friends mass. We were all divided into groups with our soul friends, I was in group 2 and were up against team 1.

The first game was Rings and Cones (thats what I call it) you are given three rings and you have to get it in the cone without missing it, the further you go the more points you get, the little juniors used small beanbags and tried to get it in the hulahupe.

My team won the first game and our scores were 59/36. The next game was cricket and this time all we had to do was hit the ball and try cross the line, I “HATED” that game it was so pressuring because you might think it was so easy but trust me if you didn’t hit the ball further than your contestant

My whole team would get so angry like we’re about to die or something but really we would just “lose”. Actually we did lose that game because “I didn’t hit the ball far enough to win” the scores were 100/90, the next game was football, there were cones laid out and you had to kick the ball in between the cones and back around until you reach the the next person to go.

My team won the that game but we didn’t get to know the score, the next game was relays basically all we did was split into 4 teams, team 1 split them selves into equal groups and go opposite each other, run with the baton (stick) to the team opposite of you and then go to the end of the line ans sit down. My team won that game but still didn’t know the scores.

The last game was gutter-board, what we do is hit the ball on the edge and over and over again until you miss when you do you give it back to your other player, you have to count all of your points, had 98 points and I think my team won so “YAY”.

St Patricks Feast day

On Thursday 17th of March my school and I celebrated Saint Patrick’s in the church with our soul friends, souls friends are seniors who are paired up with juniors, and as the year goes by they can get to know them better, my soul friend is Winfred, she is a year 5 in room 8, she likes to play tag with her friends and other sports too she can sometimes be angry at the littlest things but we both laugh over it, Winfred is a really nice person when you get to know her better.

who is Saint Patrick? Saint Patrick was born in a Romen family in Britain in the 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age 16 and was brought to Ireland as a slave.

He escaped, one night he believed he was talking to god in his dream and god told he to “go back to Ireland and preach the good news about me” so he went back and did what god told him to do.

You might be wondering why do we wear green? We wear green because Patrick used shamrocks to explain the Holy Trinity to pagan Irish (non beliefs in any religion), that is why we wear green.

What did you do to celebrate Saint Patrick’s day?

Did you know who Saint Patrick was?

Or do you have soul friends at school?
